The Monx Cosmetix is a cosmetic brand and social enterprise designed for men, founded by Szabolcs Fűri. The culmination of eight years of research and a year and a half of product development led to the creation of a silk protein-based facial cream in 2024.
Why?
Because I've always been interested in things that are aged and have a story, whether they are historical buildings, antique objects, or even a forgotten occupation. Bringing back something that's a bit dusty but shines brighter when we dusts off it again. Building on centuries-old foundations is a promising investment. When I encountered silk making and its economic, social, and innovative aspects, something stirred within me - that was MONX.
Product Development
A limited edition 1000 piece batch of Monx Day & Night, which is the result of over a year and a half of planning and development. The development of the product was inspired by the limited range of cosmetics available for men, striving for the highest quality and specifically tailored to men's facial skin. MONX's debut product, the Day & Night, is a cream built on the luxurious ingredient of sericin, allowing silk to become part of men's everyday routines.
Values & Symbols
The name MONX originated from "monks," paying tribute to the two courageous Byzantine monks who managed to carry out the world's first industrial espionage and smuggle the secret of silk-making from China, thus making the production of this noble material available in Europe, including Hungary.
In a domestic context, the “Greatest Hungarian," István Széchenyi, was the inspiration behind MONX's philosophy. Giving and giving back, not only to the individual but also to the community. A social enterprise that is profit-oriented yet socially beneficial.
